I began writing this series in 2019. A superhero character I created in high school, Captain Terrific, was paired with a twenty-something who loved to livestream. With Mattie Moore, I was able to channel all my love and thoughts about modern superhero fandom. This series was originally more preachy than I intended. Eventually, as I listened to the characters, I realized this was a story about friendship. An inspiring story about following your heart. My favorite page in this series is the last one. (The final word of this series is “Smile!”) After years of having this idea in my head, it's almost surreal that it's finally going to be published and in your hands!
